Jesus wants to work in your life to reveal to you and others who He really is and to strengthen your trust in Him. His first miracle - at a wedding in Cana - demonstrates that we can always anticipate a greater work fm Jesus as we let Him work in us.

❑ Two things that Jesus wants to do in your life in the coming year → vs 11
1. Glorify Himself
❑ This is the first of seven messianic “signs” in the Gospel of John
❑ The wedding scene foreshadowed the wedding of Messiah to His people →
Isaiah 54:6; Isaiah 62:4-5; Revelation 19:6-9
❑ Abundant wine is a theme of the Messianic Kingdom → Jer 31:12; Hos 14:7;
Amos 9:13-13
❑ Jesus addressing Mary as “Woman” (v 4) indicates a shift in their relationship
⭐︎ Jesus works in your life to demonstrate to you that He is the Messiah, Word
made flesh!
2. Strengthen your faith
❑ Jesus is involved in the everyday affairs of your life. vs 1-2
▻ Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:23, John 1:14, Psalm 23:4, John 14:16
⭐︎ He strengthens your faith through His faithful sovereignty over the daily
ordinary.
❑ Jesus will use what is available in your life. vs 6
▻ Water pots were common in every house
▻ Trips to the well were a daily activity
⭐︎ Jesus will show up in the daily routine of your life. Are you looking for Him?
❑ Jesus acts in response to your obedience to His Word. vs 5, 7-8
▻ Great advice to all of us from Mary: “Do whatever He tells you.”
▻ Obedience presupposes listening.
⭐︎ Be faithful to allow God’s Word to transform you into the person God wants you to be. → John 15:3; 7
4 Ways to Experience the Work of Jesus:
SEEK Him in His Word daily
Listen to HEAR Him speak through His Word
Pray for a heart to TRUST that what He tells you is the best for you
Commit to faithfully OBEY what you have heard from Him
